When we decided to add on to our 1830 Cape, we knew we needed an architect/builder who could give us an addition true to the period -- something that would fit seamlessly with our house and the landscape of historic Duxbury. That's exactly what we got by hiring Peter Stames of Archia, Inc.

From the drawings to the finished product, the work was impeccable.  We never had to wonder if the crew would show up. They were on the job nearly every day from April through September, even when a few summer days hit 95 degrees!

The various crews that Peter assembled were top-notch -- courteous, talented, and very professional. On the very rare occasion when something went askew, Peter resolved the issue promptly. Peter sets a high standard for his workers. He is creative with a great eye for good taste, and his talent for blending old architecture with new is amazing.

A lot of people say that living through construction is an agonizing experience, but for us it was smooth as silk, and very gratifying. The finished product is a gem!

Archia turned our ordinary garrison colonial into a beautiful, cedar-shingled, colonial farmhouse. Peter listened to our ideas and recommended viable options, so that we could achieve our goals. He responded to changes and questions immediately that resulted in very quick turnaround. Peter worked patiently with the town zoning board, making changes where necessary to get the approvals needed to begin construction.
